Someone asked me once about how to be successful at auction selling. The best advice I could give you is to be consistent with your listings and establish a presence because you never know when that prospective buyer may come along, if your not there... Guess what? They go to someone else's listing. After a while users remember your products, seller name and reputation and look for additional items listed by you. So to recap 1. Be consistent with your listing presence 2. Always use quick and easy selling terms 3. Use Good Customer Service & Thank Bidders & Buyers 4. Keep good records of all transactions 5. Most Importantly * Tell Your Friends & Help Us Grow * Good Luck & Happy Selling SpeedyBid / Admin Speedybid

Getrolling, Amen & Welcome... I have been with this site for a while now and I say your right, if we are going to enjoy this site we have to help spread the word. I know this site must take some time and money to run, so to offer a place to list your ad w/ a photo for FREE has to have a price... That's where we as users come in... Tell a friend, post a link, chat rooms, forums, classifieds etc. SpeedyBids Success as an Auction is Our Success... Keep up the good work and once again welcome to our auction community... Help Us Grow, Thanks...

I just posted my first product here, I intent to spread the word around about this site, I have a small homepage where I added a link to this page, so more people can join with SpeedyBid, to see my page go to http://www.angelfire.com/wa3/getcash. Anyway my point is that if u post stuff for sale here, spread the word around, so more people come and see it, that will help all of us. May-be there won't be as much traffic as on Ebay, but it will build and grow with team work, and your work will pay off, So let's get it rolling. God Bless ~Getrolling

Has anyone ever paid the listing fees at eBay? Yahoo? Ubid, etc. and had all there items sell??? When you list and don't sell over and over again how does that affect your profits when / if you should sell using the "Big Dogs" ??? It's all relative, what your selling, where and how much... Patience over listing fees... Cover your basis, list with everyone... (But be prepared to get your wallet out wether you sell or not) ...Good Luck...

Sdills, re:SpeedyBid I couldn't agree with you more "Rome wasn't made in a day" I have listed at "FeeBay & Yahscrew" and if your products have marginal profit and they don't sell first or second time around... You still pay... Sure you get the traffic but if your items don't sell, you lose... I'll be patient, keep listing and help this site grow anyway I can and keep my auction profits in my pocket. I only pay here if I'm successful, looks like a win, win to me... Spread the word, tell your friends "Help SpeedyBid Grow"

Welcome neighbors, I love this site and I hope it grows like wild fire... SpeedyBid suggest we use the auto relist feature (14 day ad and relist 5 times)with a "Buy It Now" option to save time on your listings while they build there traffic. Hey the price is right. FREE I can operate an eBusiness without the cost of programmers, hosting and maintenance. All I have to do is list my items on this site FREE and tell everyone I meet about the site. It's like having my own web store without all the cost, visitors can look me up through my seller ID and view all my listings. I've posted links for my SpeedyBid ads on every e-mail I send. Every little bit helps. Thanks SpeedyBid, I'll do my best to help them spread the word.

Fellow Buyers & Sellers, I've looked at competitive auction sites before making SpeedyBid my home and I have found most charge some type of membership fee. If I want to bid on something why should I pay a membership fee on top of my bid? Then there's the matter of the listing fees, Hell I used eBay a couple weeks ago and spent around $30 in advertising... Guess what? No Sales... I think I'll stay put and help this site grow and save my advertising monies... I understand there vision and wanted to say... Thanks SpeedyBid for creating an affordable on-line auction community... Oh, don't forget to check my auctions... "New" Home & Garden Items...

You must contact the seller within three business days. You are under contract to pay him or her the amount of your bid and any other expenses (if any that were mentioned in the item listing page). Hi folks don't forget to leave feed back. Best way to pay for an item is by postal money order. Save the receipt. Have a problem, turn it into the post office. They will investigate within 14 days and they take these matters very seriously. However, have your ducks in a row. Sellers, insure your items and they will check it out, and send you a check and then you can pay your buyer. Anyway thanks.

Someone had asked me about selling on auction sites and it's like this. It's kind of like fishing, I may have the best tackle in the world but if I don't put my line in the water I'm not going to catch anything. I feel the same way about my listings on these auctions. Sales is a numbers game, If I let my listings run consistently when a potential buyer comes along I'll be there, I just improved my chances for a sale. Like I said it's like fishing. Good Luck and don't forget to check my auctions.

Welcome to all the new comers! It is good to see all the new faces. NASCAR season is just around the corner and I was able to put my fingers on some fantastic wall clocks! Great gifts to buy ahead and give to hubby or dad on Fathers Day. Also, found some simply gorgeous bridal sets (as well as other rings, watches, etc.) that are priced to save you hundreds of dollars. Short term lay-a-way option is available. And, finally got a picture of myself posted on the 'About Me' page. Happy selling everyone!

Guys I use Credit Card services that offer purchase protection. Let the Credit Card companies use their resources to chase down and investigate. Put them on it if you have questions or problems. But mostly when buying and selling use common sense... re:chat room this is a great place to get help but this continual banter back and forth should be done with the parties involved. I as a Buyer / Seller at this site can see that your only hurting all of us by going on and on about this. I'm sorry for your lose but do you have to hurt all of us that are good merchants by casting doubt into perspective buyers through this continual negative campaign. Call the police, do something, but please try something different than what you've been doing here. Thanks

we are responsible for our own words, but yet they keep disappearing. I think this whole cituation could be cleared up by starting an escrow system, where a third party would hold funding until items paid for are recieved.

Got the Binoculars from Hotbuys today! The wholesaler he seems to be using now is much better, will be considering buying from him again. HotBuys: You made some major mistakes and you know that, but keep going you can do it, I know it is hard starting a business on line, and you got ripped off by your previous wholesaler but don't give up! The one you are dealing with now seem to be good, the tracking number we get after ordering really help as well. Thanks.

I bought things from hotbuys, slow on sending items, asked for refund and got it, it was a post dated check, but that was ok. Still got the money back. I also just bought something off him and I got a tracking number with it when I paid for the item, so still am a little wary of buying off him again, but was willing to take chance. Will let you know how this transaction goes.

I must be having a 'gray roots' moment. I sold an item, received notification of details, but cannot link to the sold item to see exactly what it was. I have oodles of things listed here and ****, not ebay, and get my items from several different suppliers. I had several items similar to this one posted and I want to be able to ship the correct item to my buyer, but am in a fog as to what it was. I just have an item number, but cannot link to that number. Am I missing something here? Do items sold not stay posted for a few days to allow us time to refresh our memories? Or, perhaps there is an 'items sold' listing under my name that I am missing. Thanks for the help. imminus1

Hello everyone, yes I have sold a lot of items here and yes I know it sounds very suspicous of why no one has received a thing from me, and as I have explained to everyone who has emailed me about a refund I have sent several refunds to people already. And anyone who wants a refund all they have to do is ask me and I would send one.. As for the link to the store World Treasures, that is a new business of mine I have opened as I was not getting any results except a lot of bull from the previous wholesaler I was dealing with, so the New store of World Treasures is completely different than anything I was selling here. The reason the Pay Pal link says World Treasures is because I opened a Business account with them. Yes I have a couple different email addresses, the one at tholmes@aemail4u.com is to do with the World Treasures business. So Please remeber everyone that anyone that has delat with me and my previous wholesaler if they want a refund I have already said I would do this, all you have to do is ask and the money would have been on the way. Yes it has been a long time and yes I have tried to get the stuff shipped with not alot of luck, so please remeber I am honest and I see no reason to think otherwise, of all the people who have complained NOT one has come right out and asked for a refund from me.. So ask and it is yours..Tobius computerwhiz36@hotmail.com

I've been with SpeedyBid from the beginning (Nov 2002) and all I can say is that I have found most people to be honest folks looking for good deals. Try and use common sense when selling / bidding. If you have encountered a buyer/seller problem, Report the Abuse to Admin at SpeedyBid. They can send a warning to the party involved and if nothing happens,"Block" the troublesome user from using this site in the future.

Hello all. Help! I won an auction here on 12/18/02. Item description promised delivery by Xmas. Still no item as of 1/7/03. I contacted the seller several times and get sob storys of problems with his drop wholesaler and no funds to return my payment($190.00) a conideable sum for me. What do I do? Besides leaving negative feedback? Does SpeedyBid have a follow up for a bad seller? This seller has other auctions on now, who else will get the same deal I'm getting?

Hi: new to site. hope it grows bigger than Ebay.
Posted by End_of_the_road (1) on 1/2/2003 at 11:50:06 ET Auctions
Doug, when you list an item, you will see an area that says, 'Your Reserve Price'. This is the lowest price you are willing to accept for the item you are listing. For example, you list an item for $9.99, but you are not willing to sell it for less than, let's say, $45.00. You would enter $45.00 in 'Your Reserve Price'. This amount is not visible to bidders, however an icon will appear in your listing showing that there is a reserve price. You are not obligated to sell it to bids below the reserve price. Welcome aboard and happy selling! Ruthie

if you list an itm to sell and the bid is lower than you list, do you HAVE TO SELL THE ITEM.

Pass the coffee, please. It was a late night spent listing, listing, listin. My committment to you is to offer practical (and sometimes not so practical) items to you at ALWAYS practical prices. I have access to over 6000 items, so if there is anything that you are needing or just 'must have', please let me know and I will endeavor to find just what you are looking for at a price that will not empty your wallet. Move over eBay and Yahoo! This is the 'bestest'! I have posted many items, from fine jewelry to leather to cookware to figurines to what-have-you, on other auction sites and have had very little response. I offer items ranging from soup to nuts, practical and zany, and I will endeavor to bring you the best quality merchandise for your specific needs or desires and the best possible price and with the 'high' costs of listing items waived, my savings will be past on to you, my customer. May each of you have a blessed New Year! PS. If you have questions, contact me @IMminus1@earthlink.net Ruthie

Welcome & Merry Christmas to everyone here at SpeedyBid.com We are a new auction site (Nov. 2002) motivated by giving you the best service we can at hopefully the best prices we can, for as long as we can. Our future is largely dependant upon you. Yes we spend advertising $$$ but the bottom line is when you have a good experience you tell somebody. That's what we are hoping for, by telling your family & friends about us we can grow fast and strong to compete with some of the "Big Dogs" I've always said "Your Success is Our Success" so let's see if we can't make the New Year 2003 great for both Buyers & Sellers. Thanks and have a safe and wonderful holiday season... SpeedyBid.com

Merry Xmas from the UK! Everyone is new here, so everyone doesn't have any feedback - how new is this site anyway?

Hi everyone. I just registered here last night. I have listed one item and will continue to list all my items. I wonder how many members there are at this auction website. I am 62 years old and my husband is 71 years old. My brother bought this computer for me over two years ago. I love this computer. I just can't believe how boring my life was before I had a computer. Happy Thanksgiving! Have a smiley day! smileylady

I think I'll stick around for awhile, see what happens here at SpeedyBid. So far, I haven't been very impressed with Yahoo's administrative behavior. And Ebay's people longterm people are very possessive, competitive, often rude, and just not very receptive to helping out new people. So, I'm glad to be here during the start up process.

It's nice to know I caught this Auction site during the startup process.

About SpeedyBid: I e-mailed the owner of SpeedyBid and they been up and running for only a few weeks now. There positioning themselves in the Search Engines pay per click advertising to be in the top 5 under keyword search for auction over the holidays. NetZero,Juno,Overture,Alta Vista,Info Search,MSN,Yahoo etc. The site has been increasing in traffic hits every day. They hope to jump start this site over the holidays with a solid base of new registrations and listings. I've been with them from the start, I was #12, 3 weeks ago so it's starting to happen. Hey the price is right I use there auto relist feature to save time. Let my ads run, at least I get some free exposure for my products. Well I wish SpeedyBid great success, as the admin said, Our Success is Your Success - I agree so "Yes" I will help spread the word about SpeedyBid.com Win,Win situation for all sellers & buyers

Hi! I'm a bit new to this site. I usually use the Yahoo auctions, but the price was right here. I was wondering if anyone has actually sold something using this auction? I know they are trying to increase their traffic. How long has this site been available? Thanks in advance! Melanie

I would just like to say "Hello" to everyone out there. If there is anything your looking for to buy please don't hesitate to contact me and I'll do my best to find it. I now have 32 warehouses at my fingure tips and over 20 other sources. So if its out there I can prolly get a hold of it and have it put on here.

Welcome neighbors, I love this site and I hope it grows like wild fire over the holidays. I talked with the owner of SpeedyBid and there suggestion is to use the relist feature (14 day ad and relist 5 times)to save time on listings while they build there traffic. Hey the price is right. FREE I can operate an eBusiness without the cost of programmers, hosting and maintenance. All I have to do is list my items on this site FREE and tell everyone I meet about the site. It's like having my own web store, visitors can look me up through my seller ID and view all my listings. I've posted links for my SpeedyBid ads on every e-mail I send. Every little bit helps. The way I see it, SpeedyBid is giving me something and I'll do my best to help them spread the word.
